The Unit Award Scheme (UAS) is a 'can do' accreditation scheme for recognising learning and success. It rewards participants for personal progress and achievements which are often not recognised by more formal qualifications.
Used with students of all ages and abilities, the Scheme covers virtually all subject areas and activities from Pre-entry to Level 3.
Next Steps provides a list of headings for you to choose from. You choose which units you would like and they are put onto a CD with corresponding help and guidance for the staff to use and where appropriate worksheets for the young people.
All the units and resources provided on the CDs are designed specifically to support and guide young people and staff by helping to interlink with both Care and Pathway Plans. They can be used to observe the development of everyday naturally occurring life skills or as a starting point for Key Working sessions. They provide official accreditation to the young people for the skills they gain which boosts confidence and self esteem. As a result it provides clear evidence to all agencies such as Social Workers and Ofsted where needs have been met and improvements made in a young person’s life
Having your chosen AQA units on a CD will save the care professional time. They are ready to use and can be downloaded and used as many times as required. Each CD contains your chosen units and is a one stop resource providing everything that is needed to work effectively with the young people. The care professional does not need to source anything else unless they require additional specific information for an individual young person.
Each Unit is set out so that the care professional working with the young person has step by step instructions on how to help them reach the required outcomes.
Work required for assessment is clearly marked and is downloaded from the disk so you can have as many copies as required. All information is provided in PDF so it is usable on any PC.
