Next Steps Testimonials

Over the years we have been fortunate to have worked with some fantastic people... Here are a few of their comments.

Next Steps Life Skills are excellent in their approach to child focused training and outcomes. The training received is of the highest possible quality, I have been in the sector for six years and to date have not found a more enthusiastic and focused trainer as Janet Kealey.

The AQA Units are supporting our young people to effectively develop their life skills with a view to independent living and to formally recognise their achievements. Due to the flexibility of the programme and the range of units available, we have been able to individually plan units to suit the particular needs and interests of each young person. Engagement has been excellent by our young people who recognise the value of having life skills formally recognised.

"I really enjoyed the training on E-Safety and feel now that I am more aware of how to keep our young people safe."

"The training enhanced my knowledge of cyberbulling and has helped me to become more aware of what it means to young people. I would recommend it to anyone who works with children."

"In doing the workshop on Sexual Exploitation I am now more aware of the signs and how I can support our young people."

"It was really interesting to see the subject areas available in the Life Skill AQA’s. I know they will really benefit our young people. The workshop showing us how to put them into practice them was really useful and easy to understand."

Springfield Road Children's Home – Feedback from workshops

The implementation of the AQA’s to support young people’s life skills are working very well for us. The young people really enjoy doing them and really happy when they get their certificates. Due to their circumstances they have not had the role models they need to help them to understand life skills and what it’s like to live independently. The units Next Steps provide and the help and support that Janet offers both on the CDs and in person is great.

Our Trainer, Tracy, from Next Steps was clearly very informed and knowledgeable about Safeguarding and made the workshop relevant and interesting.

I really enjoyed our training on Becoming An Anti-Bullying Facilitator, it helped me to understand why bullies bully and how to support children and young people who may be bullied.
JK - Course Delegate
Janet shows a huge understanding of the implications and difficulties faced by these vulnerable young people and the packs are extremely user friendly by the residential staff whose responsibility it is to support them. Everything is clear and structured and works towards clear outcomes.

Next Steps has supplied me with AQA Unit Awards which have met the individual needs of the young people in my care. One young man has recently completed a range of units based on developing skills of independence allowing him to gain the confidence and proficiency to live alone.
